2030 Districts are a national model for urban sustainability. Participating members make a collective commitment to reduce their building’s energy use, water consumption, and transportation commuting emissions by 50% by the year 2030.

Following this story from its inception, this short doc focuses on Cincinnati’s efforts, over the course of 18 months, to become a certified 2030 District.

To date, 48 members have committed 321 buildings and 28.2 million square feet to the Cincinnati 2030 District. As of 2021 they have helped reduce participating buildings’ energy consumption by 31.5%, water consumption by 31.3%, and transportation emissions by 20.8%.
